VALHALLA, NY - Senator Terrence P. Murphy released the following statement on the tragic Metro-North Railroad accident that occured in Valhalla yesterday evening.

"My heart goes out to the families of all those affected by this immense tragedy in Valhalla. We are all praying for them. I thank the dedicated first responders who quickly came to aid of those in need."

"Since the accident, I have been in constant contact with MTA and Metro North officials, as well as my colleagues on the federal, county and local government. My office and I will be available to anyone in the Valhalla community to assist in the recovery from the worst accident in Metro North's history."

"Moving forward, we must do everything in our power to compile the facts of this tragedy and determine how we can better protect our neighbors and loved ones in the future."

Valhalla is located in New York State Senate District 40 and every scheduled stop was located in the 40th Senate District.
