New York State Senator Jose M. Serrano was recently interviewed on the WBAI program "State of the Arts." The Senator discussed his arts and cultural district legislation, S6271A, which passed in the New York State Senate and would create arts and cultural districts throughout the state in order to promote the growth and development of the arts and culture sector.
"It was a pleasure speaking with Savona Bailey-McClain on the radio show, State of the Arts NYC, discussing my arts and cultural districts legislation which passed in the New York State Senate. My bill would create arts and culture districts throughout New York State, which would act as an economic engine for local communities, while adding cultural and educational value to the everyday lives of New Yorkers."
