COPENHAGEN GOLDEN KNIGHTS SOCCER TEAM RECOGNIZED BY RITCHIE AT STATE CAPITOL
May 3, 2016

State Senator Patty Ritchie welcomed members of the Copenhagen Golden Knights Girls Soccer Team to the State Capitol Tuesday, where the team was honored for their capture of the state title last November.
In the state title game, the Golden Knights shutout Wheatland-Chili—2 to nothing—to win the Class D crown.
“Today, I’d like to congratulate the Copenhagen Golden Knights Girls Soccer team, as well as their coaches, for a tremendous win that made the entire community—and North Country—proud,” said Senator Ritchie.
“Their capture of the state title was the third in the program’s history—and I’m confident that as this team continues to grow, and work hard, there will be many more successes in its future.”
While in Albany, the Golden Knights were honored during the day’s Senate session with an official resolution, cosponsored by Senator Joe Griffo, recognizing their achievements. In addition, the group also toured the Capitol and joined Senator Ritchie for lunch.
