Larkin Announces Local Student As Newburgh ‘Youth Of The Year’

Senator Bill Larkin (R,C,I-39th District) proudly announced Giselle Martinez is the winner of the Boys and Girls Club of Newburgh’s Youth of the Year award. Given out annually, the award honors a young person who has proffered exceptional service to his or her community and enriched the lives of his or her peers. Martinez, who is planning on attending Mount Saint Mary College in the fall, was honored at the state Capitol earlier this week.
“Giselle Martinez is role model for her peers and an inspiration to our community,” said Sen. Larkin. “Her dedication to improving the lives of those around her, as well as her commitment to her education and personal development are truly exceptional. I commend her for all she’s done and I look forward to seeing what accomplishments the future holds for her.”
