NEW YORK – State Senator Brad Hoylman (D, WF-Manhattan) released the following statement today lauding the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) for its decision to calendar and potentially designate two of the New York Public Library’s (NYPL) interior spaces as New York City landmarks. Last month, Senators Brad Hoylman and Liz Krueger sent a letter to Chair Meenakshi Srinivasan urging the LPC to recognize “the Rose Main Reading Room and the Bill Blass Public Catalog Room as the historic interior spaces that our city has come to treasure in our beloved library.” This follows a request by Senator Hoylman in 2013 to designate the Rose Main Reading Room.
