“Today’s decision by the Franchise Oversight Board to recommend the Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) issue a formal RFP for development at Belmont Park is a positive first-step in providing a long overdue economic boost for our region. It is time for the untapped potential of Belmont Park to be realized and for ESDC to review proposals that will enhance the existing horseracing industry, while bringing new jobs and opportunities to Long Island.”
