SENATOR KLEIN ANNOUNCES $12,000 IN FUNDING FOR PELHAM CHILDREN’S CENTER

State funds will be used to boost technology and support music and science enrichment programs

Pelham, NY - Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) announced $12,000 in funding for Pelham Children’s Center, which will support technological advancements and the private pre-school’s music and science enrichment programs. The announcement was made by Senator Klein during a visit to Pelham Children’s Center on Friday.

“I’m thrilled to have secured $12,000 in state funding for Pelham Children’s Center. PCC is an excellent private pre-school that offers premium daylong childcare for working families in Pelham. I look forward to a lasting relationship with PCC, as well providing continued support for the children and families of Pelham,” said Senator Jeff Klein.

Senator Klein was given a tour of the childcare care center, and was presented with a piece of artwork by the students. The funding will be used to provide computers, phones and other technological advancements for classrooms and offices. The funds will also support the existing music and science enrichment programs.

“Senator Klein has always been a strong supporter of the Pelham Children’s Center. We are very fortunate to have him as a representative fighting for children and families. His generous grant will help us to provide music and science enrichment programs to our children. It will also allow us to upgrade our technology both in the classrooms and office,” said Nicole La Bar, Executive Director of Pelham Children’s Center.

“Senator Klein’s grant will provide a positive impact for our children by providing them with much needed technological equipment and extracurricular activities that will enhance their learning and support their readiness for kindergarten and beyond,” said Taniesha Hinds, Assistant Director of Pelham Children’s Center.
