Senator Parker Brings Hundreds Of Solar Energy Enthusiasts Together For Intersolar Summit USA East 2017

BROOKLYN, NY (3-24-17) – For the third year, State Senator Kevin Parker hosted energy experts from across the nation at the Intersolar Summit USA East 2017. The event, which took place the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, attracted more than 400 people who discussed and explored ways to continue educating and executing a clear strategy to reach clean and renewable energy solutions to meet consumer needs. Senator Parker, the Ranking Democratic Member on the Senate Committee on Energy and Telecommunications, delivered the keynote address to kickoff the daylong event.

“The green collar economy is crucial not only because it helps to protect our environment, but just as important is its potential to produce living wage jobs with benefits in communities of color across New York State,” said State Senator Kevin Parker. “I am proud to partner with Intersolar and facilitate a meaningful conversation about real solutions and effective ways to ensure we are bringing about a solar energy future”, concluded the Brooklyn the lawmaker.

Sustainable CUNY participated in the event for the second year in a row. They shared their great content around solar storage, their unique solar map of New York City neighborhoods, and discussed their vision for long-term infrastructure solutions for cities.  Tria Case, University Director of Sustainability for CUNY stated: “As we continue to work towards resiliency and sustainability of New York City and State infrastructure, it is always great to partner with New York State and companies like Intersolar Global who share a similar vision for renewable energy, energy efficiency practices, innovations in clean technology and economic development.
