Local Officials to Host Immigration Town Hall Featuring New York Attorney General's Office

(Astoria, NY) – Senator Michael Gianaris, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Assemblymember Aravella Simotas and Councilmember Costa Constantinides will host a town hall to discuss the important issues affecting immigrant communities. The elected officials will field questions from the community and address current issues and concerns. The town hall will be held in partnership with Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s Civil Rights and Labor Bureaus, whose attorney’s will provide information regarding the unique role of the State in protecting immigrant rights.
Senator Michael Gianaris said, “At this critical historical moment, it is important to inform people of their rights and let them know we are doing all we can to address their fears and concerns. It is also important to hear directly from our community as we continue our fight to protect families and children, along with our shared values.”
The town hall will take place Tuesday, April 18th at P.S. 234, located at 30-15 29th Street in Astoria and will begin promptly at 6pm.
