Senator Patrick M. Gallivan, (R-C-I, Elma) is joining members of the WNY State Legislature delegation and other elected officials in a blanket drive to support pediatric patients at the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo. The Warm Up WNY Blanket Drive runs through January 31, 2018.
“A hospital stay can make anyone anxious, especially a child,” Gallivan said. “Sometimes simple things like a warm blanket can offer comfort and calm fears. Because of the number of pediatric patients that visit Children’s, the hospital relies on community donations to provide free blankets to kids undergoing treatment.”
The community is invited to drop off newly purchased blankets at Senator Gallivan’s District Office at 2721 Transit Road, Suite 116 during regular business hours, Monday – Friday. Several local school districts have also agreed to help collect blankets.
Last year’s blanket drive collected nearly 4,000 blankets for pediatric patients.
