State Senator Patty Ritchie recently welcomed the Mexico Academy and Central School District High School Jazz Choir to the State Capitol.

Students performing were taking part in a celebration of “Music in Our Schools Month,” which helps to highlight the importance of the arts in education.  Last year, Senator Ritchie secured over $35,000 in special funding benefitting music and art programs in schools across Central and Northern New York, including programs in the Mexico Academy and Central School District.
