TOWN OF MURRAY – State Senator Rob Ortt (R,C,I – North Tonawanda) today announced a total of $1.6 million in state grants he secured for equipment and several capital improvement projects throughout Orleans County. The projects will help small local governments, support the health and safety of residents, and contribute to the economic growth of neighborhoods throughout the county.

Senator Ortt said, “This funding will help equip communities with the tools and resources they need to improve the county’s quality of life and create new economic opportunities for residents. By investing in these projects, we are stimulating local development, creating and retaining jobs, and strengthening the region’s economy.”

The Town of Murray Highway Department has received $200,000 for a new snowplow/dump truck replacing a 16-year-old truck. Murray Town Supervisor John Morriss said, “On behalf of the Town of Murray, I want to express my gratitude to Senator Ortt for his efforts in securing this grant for the Town. This new truck will help the highway department do a more efficient job of road maintenance making travel through the Town safer of all who use our roads.”
