Senator Hoylman Statement Opposing the Nomination of Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
July 9, 2018

NEW YORK, NY - Today, State Senator Brad Hoylman (D/WF - Manhattan), Ranking Member of the State Senate Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement in response to the nomination of U.S. Circuit Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court:
Senator Hoylman said: “The fate of abortion rights now lies in the hands of a judge who’s clearly demonstrated his blatant contempt for Roe v Wade. For this reason alone, Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination must be stopped.
Unfortunately, New York’s statutes currently don’t fully protect women’s reproductive health. If Trump’s pick isn’t defeated, it will literally be a matter of life and death to elect a Democratic State Senate in November.”
