Senator Kevin Parker Hosts 11th Annual Job Fair

BROOKLYN, NY (6/26/18) – On Tuesday, June 26, State Senator Kevin Parker in partnership with New York City Councilman Jumaane D. Williams, held his 11th  Annual Job Fair at the Student Union Center at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. The event, co-sponsored by Opportunities For A Better Tomorrow (OBT), welcomed over 200 job seekers to on-site interviews with recruiters from various organizations, resume writing workshops, and interview prep sessions.

“Each year, I look forward to the Annual Job Fair which provides a platform for residents in my district and the surrounding areas to learn about employment opportunity within various city agencies and organizations. The workshops conducted during the job fair were very informative. The instructor provided attendees with various interview and resume tips, which will be helpful along their job search. I am very thankful to all of the partners who came together to make this event successful”, concluded the Brooklyn lawmaker.

Senator Parker’s Job Fair provided the perfect opportunity for us to directly meet with Brooklynites and inform them of employment opportunity available within our organization” said Lara Pantin- Recruitment Specialist, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce

At the event, attendees were able to meet recruiters from some of the following organizations:

NYC Department of Corrections, NYPD, Wells Fargo, NYPD-Senior Police Recruitment Section, MTA New York City Transit, MTA Metro North, Department of Mental Health & Hygiene, The White Glove Home Care Agency, Brooklyn Public Library, Sears,  The New York National Guard, Manhattan School of Computer Technology, Department of Civil Service,BEOC, ICL, Opportunities For A Better Tomorrow, Recruiting and Retention, NCO/Army, Pre- K For All, The Jewish Board, Prime America, NYC Parks Department, NYC Transit Authority and Walgreens.
