Senator Gianaris Statement on Janus vs. AFSCME Supreme Court Decision

ASTORIA, N.Y. – Senator Michael Gianaris issued the following statement in response to the Janus vs. AFSCME decision issued by the Supreme Court.

“Today’s Supreme Court decision in Janus vs. AFSCME will have serious negative repercussions for working people across our country. Organized labor is the backbone of a strong working class and this decision further erodes the ability to organize for higher wages and better working conditions.

“Unfortunately, this is only the latest in a long line of harmful decisions by this Supreme Court. To change the Supreme Court, we must change the President and Congress, and that can only be done at the ballot box. Let’s get to work.”
