New York State Senator Roxanne J. Persaud in Partnership with HealthFirst hosted a powerful and memorable Educational Leadership Awards Ceremony

(Brooklyn, NY) NYS Senator Roxanne J. Persaud honored over forty educators and educational service providers at the Educational Leadership Awards Breakfast on Friday, April, 27th, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Tropical Paradise Ballroom; 1367 Utica Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11203.

Guidance Counselors, Middle School Parent-Teachers Coordinators, Coaches, Public Librarians, School Safety Agents, Day Care Providers and Community Education Council Members were presented with a New York State Citation for their longstanding service in the Nineteenth Senatorial District. There were over two hundred guests from the district to share in the celebrations including NYPD, Clergy, Principals, Site Directors, relatives and friends.

Senator Persaud stressed the importance of strong communities, and the role the honorees play in the lives of children on a daily basis. Council Member Mark Treyger, a former teacher, discussed the importance of education funding in his keynote address.

Senator Persaud thanked George Hulse - Vice President of Community Engagement at HealthFirst, for his vision. HealthFirst partnered with the Senator’s office in sponsoring the breakfast. Mr. Hulse reminded everyone present to practice self-care daily and take steps to improve their health, preventing all too common chronic diseases like Diabetes.
