BROOKLYN, NY — New York State Senator Roxanne J. Persaud visited the Millennium Development Penn Wortman Older Adult Center on Friday, June 26th to proudly present the induction of Ronnie McNair to the New York State Senate 2026 Veterans’ Hall of Fame. The New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame recognizes exceptional veterans whose military service and continued commitment have made a lasting impact on their communities.
Mr. McNair was unable to attend the official New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame ceremony held in Albany, making this presentation a meaningful opportunity to recognize his distinguished military service and lifelong dedication to the community.
Mr. McNair enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at just 17 years old and courageously served overseas in multiple countries. During his military service, he was wounded in the line of duty while defending our nation. Following his military career, Mr. McNair continued his commitment to service by supporting fellow veterans through his work with the Veterans Association and the Wounded Warrior Project. He also remains an active and valued member of the Millennium Development Penn Wortman Older Adult Center, where he continues to inspire others through his resilience, leadership, and dedication.
"It was my distinct honor to present Mr. Ronnie McNair with his New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame award," said Senator Roxanne J. Persaud. "His extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to our country exemplify the very best of those who have served in our Armed Forces. Mr. McNair has continued his legacy of service long after his military career by uplifting fellow veterans and remaining an active presence within our community. We are forever grateful for his sacrifices and proud to recognize his remarkable contributions."
