Senator Murphy to Governor Cuomo: What about Indian Point?
January 2, 2018
ALBANY, NY - Earlier today Governor Andrew Cuomo released his 20th proposal in advance of his State of the State address. The proposal, titled New York's Clean Energy Jobs and Climate Agenda, laid out several policy initiatives. However, State Senator Terrence Murphy points out, the planned closure of Indian Point and the impact on the surrounding community was not included as a priority. Senator Murphy said:
"The host region of Indian Point is grappling with a projected $450 million revenue shortfall due to its closing. I hope tomorrow's speech by the Governor will provide more answers than questions on how New York State intends to support the hardworking families who will be impacted."
