Statement From Senate Republican Leader Flanagan
September 29, 2019
I join all New Yorkers in mourning the tragic death of NYPD officer Brian Mulkeen, killed early this morning in the line of duty. On behalf of our entire Senate Republican conference, I offer my deepest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.
Being a police officer is among the most difficult jobs that anyone can perform, and it is full of uncertainty and danger at every turn. We owe Officer Mulkeen and all of the dedicated men and women of the law enforcement community a debt of gratitude for putting themselves at risk to keep us safe.
We must never forget their dedication and their sacrifice on behalf of New York’s law-abiding families.
RIP, Officer Mulkeen.
