ALBANY, N.Y. – Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris joined more than 1,500 tenants to rally for stronger rent laws outside the state Capitol. The rally included tenants from Queens organized by Woodside on the Move.
“We are a few weeks from giving New York the strongest rent laws in history,” said Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris. “I am proud to be a champion in the fight for New York’s tenants.”
The rally occurred on the steps of the New York State Museum to support the 9-piece legislative agenda of the Housing Justice for All coalition. Senator Gianaris wrote legislation to end Major Capital Improvements, one of the group’s priority bills.
