Statement from Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris on Major Power Failure at Big Six Towers in Woodside

WOODSIDE, N.Y. - Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris issued the following statement following a major power failure at the “Big Six” towers in Woodside, Queens.

“I received word late tonight that the “Big Six” towers experienced a major outage. I am in touch with residential leaders, NYC OEM, and FDNY to offer assistance.

“This complex generates its own power supply and is not connected to a major utility. I will work with residents to help identify the cause of this outage and address issues with their generator system going forward.”
