Senator Jordan Calls on Governor Hochul to Support Small Landlords

Since the start of the pandemic small mom-and-pop landlords have been struggling to get the support they need to stay afloat. For many of these people the monthly rent money from their rental property is the bulk of their income and for many of them they have had to forgo that income since March of 2020. Yet in that time they have still been required to pay their mortgage, pay their utilities, and pay their property taxes. The State promised to cover these costs with the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) but has failed to deliver on that promise. Please read my letter to Governor Hochul, urging her to help the mom-and-pop landlords that have been abandoned by Albany.
