NYS Senator Cooney Named to City & State's Asian Power 100 List

(ALBANY, NY) - Senator Jeremy Cooney (D-Rochester) was named to City & State Magazine’s list entitled “The Power of Diversity: Asian 100” during Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month.
Senator Cooney is one of three Asian Americans in the State Senate – and the first elected to a state level office outside metro-NYC. He is the inaugural chair of the Senate Cities II Committee, focused on growth and revitalization of cities outside of NYC.
Senator Cooney was also instrumental in advancing New York’s legalization of recreational marijuana last year as co-chair of the state Senate Marijuana Task Force for the Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic & Asian Legislative Caucus.
