Hyde Park, NY—Senator Sue Serino released the following statement in response to news of the Lt. Governor’s arrest:

“I believe in due process and every person is innocent until proven guilty, however when you are at the highest levels of government, you must be held to the highest standard. This has proven to be a distraction at a critical time for New York and the Lt. Governor should resign so that we can focus on moving our state forward.

Governor Hochul promised a ‘new era for New York,’ and that starts by rooting out corruption and ensuring accountability for public officials who endanger the public’s trust.”
