Senator Bill Weber today announced $995,532 in state aid for library construction for the 38th Senate District. 

“Libraries and the services they provide are an essential part of our community and an important resource for our residents,” said Senator Bill Weber. “I met with the librarians from all the libraries in the 38th district in my District Office back in February where we discussed their needs and concerns. I am happy to announce this vital funding to ensure our libraries have the resources they need for these important construction projects.”

 

The libraries in Senator Weber’s district awarded funding from the New York State Library Construction Fund are:

 

Haverstraw King's Daughters Library 

$45,038.00 to replace a 116-ton cooling tower. 

 

New City Free Library 


$295,616.00 as part of a larger renovation project, this application is to support wall and ceiling installations, painting, tiling roofing, and a new elevator. 

 

Nyack Library 

$87,500.00 to install two, eight-ton, heat pumps and two air handlers to replace inefficient units. 

 

Pearl River Public Library 

$243,825.00 for a chiller replacement, security cameras, circulation/self-checkout, and community room doors. 

 

Piermont Public Library 

$8,018.00 for safety upgrades including a CCTV System, exterior lighting, and a new VOIP phone system. 

 

Suffern Free Library 

$138,929.00 for construction of an outdoor reading area, replacement of a 22-year-old boiler, an upgraded fire alarm system, and security gates.

 

Valley Cottage Free Library 

$176,606.00 to replace the entire roof and substructure, new curbing on the existing HVAC elements, skylight replacement, and gutter replacement.
