Senator Kevin Parker Honors Lucina Clarke, Founder of My Time Inc.

Brooklyn, NY – In his continued efforts to spotlight the great work being done by residents of the Borough of Brooklyn, State Senator Kevin Parker recently  recognized the remarkable efforts of Lucina Clarke, Founder of My Time Inc. Clarke was awarded for her dedication to empowering and uplifting parents of children diagnosed with autism and developmental disabilities. My Time Inc. is a pioneering organization that strives to provide invaluable support, education, and enlightenment to parents, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives in their communities. It is estimated that one in every 36 children is diagnosed with ASD.

With a core mission to enhance the lives of families and caregivers, My Time Inc. under Clarke's exceptional leadership has become a beacon of hope for countless individuals across Brooklyn, New York. By offering comprehensive programs and services, they equip parents with the necessary resources to navigate the challenges associated with ASD. The organization's unwavering commitment to supporting families has emerged as a vital component in building a stronger, more inclusive society.

Senator Parker has also sponsored a package of autism related bill in the Senate this Legislative Session: Among them are:

Senate Bill S4741: Requiring the Office of developmental disabilities to require pediatric caretakers/doctors to provide screening for autism

Senate Bill S5762: Requires health insurers to provide full coverage for the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of autism spectrum disorder.

 Senate Bill S5077: Creates the New York autism spectrum disorders treatment, training, and research council and provides for the powers and duties of the council.

Throughout his tenure, Senator Parker has successfully championed legislation that enhances access to critical healthcare and therapeutic services for individuals with autism. By advocating for increased funding in educational programs, he has worked relentlessly to ensure children on the spectrum receive the comprehensive support they deserve.
