Statement From Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt On Efforts to Remove Candidates from the Presidential Ballot

The Colorado Supreme Court decision to remove former President Trump from the ballot is proof that Democrats’ ultimate goal is to weaponize the Judiciary against political opponents. New York Democrats have announced plans to follow suit, which comes as no surprise after we saw them stack the Appeals Court to force their preferred outcome on redistricting.
Whether you like Donald Trump or hate him, the right to approve or disapprove of candidates should lie solely with the voters. Only in the darkest corners of the globe under dictatorships would we ever see the unilateral removal of a candidate in an election. The only real threat to Democracy is the continued poisoning of our Judicial process by power hungry politicians and activist judges.
