(CORTLAND COUNTY, NY) Today, Senator Webb (SD52) held a press conference to announce that she has secured $45,000 in state funds to support the work of local organizations providing transportation and accessibility programs in Cortland County.

  • $25,000 to Seven Valleys Health Coalition to support their Supports of Health Transportation program
  • $20,000 to JM Murray to support the purchase of a new wheelchair-accessible van

Said Senator Lea Webb, “I am thrilled to deliver $45,000 in state funds to support local organizations working to provide accessible transportation programs here in Cortland County. We are fortunate to have these organizations in the Southern Tier, and we must ensure that they can provide our community members with the vital transportation programs they need. I am thrilled to have secured these additional resources. I will continue to fight for additional funding to expand access to transportation programs for our rural district in the upcoming legislative session.”

Said Jackie Leaf, Executive Director of Seven Valleys Health Coalition, "Dedicated to enhancing our community through innovative projects, Seven Valleys Health Coalition is committed to ensuring accessibility to maternal health services, transportation, and nutritional resources. Thanks to the funds secured by Senator Webb, we will sustain our Maternal Health programs, strengthen the Seven Valleys Food Rescue program, and explore growth for the Support for Health Transportation program. This support not only rejuvenates our mission, but also guarantees that individuals depending on these services can continue accessing resources crucial to their well-being. We are immensely grateful for Senator Webb and look forward to paving the way toward a healthier and more fulfilling community together."

Said Ernest Dodge, President/CEO of JM Murray, “JM Murray is very appreciative of the $20,000 Senator Webb was able to secure for us towards the purchase of a wheelchair accessible van. The van will be used to further strengthen our Without Walls Day Habilitation service that is highly praised by NYS’s Office of People with Developmental Disabilities for our diverse range of opportunities we provide our individuals throughout Cortland County. Transportation costs continue to increase every year and they are our highest expense behind staff wages and benefits. We appreciate the continued efforts and support of Senator Webb towards our mission of enhancing the quality of life for the individuals and families we serve.”
