BINGHAMTON, NY – This weekend, Senator Lea Webb presented Blues on the Bridge with a NYS Empire Award. The NYS Empire Award is the highest award a NYS Senator can bestow upon businesses and organizations in their district. 

Said Donnie Wilkins of Blues on the Bridge, “We would like to thank Senator Lea Webb for presenting this award to us and also want to shout out the thousands of fans who return year after year. Blues On The Bridge has been around for 25 years, and to us, it seems like yesterday. When Tommy Martinos came on board, and mostly because of him, this little blues showcase turned into a major event for the local area. He was a great partner, and still a great friend. I have fond memories of those years, and as Blues and Rock and Roll fans, we all owe him a big ‘Thank You.’ As Tommy has stepped down for health reasons, Lori, my wife, took over most of his duties. I’m confident that Blues On The Bridge will last another 25 years.”

Blues on the Bridge has been a cornerstone of Binghamton’s cultural life, bringing together thousands of residents and visitors to celebrate music, community, and local talent. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into one of the region’s most anticipated annual traditions, sustained by passionate organizers, dedicated volunteers, and the generous support of local sponsors. 

Founded in 2001, this year marks the 25th annual Blues on the Bridge festival. This year’s lineup included: The Silvertones, Nate Gross Band, String of Pearls, Triple Cities Soul Machine, Revenants, Mudpuppies Reunion, Junkyard Heights, The Gents, and Egomaniacs. In addition to outstanding live music, the festival hosts more than 40 local food and craft vendors, creating an atmosphere that uplifts small businesses and artisans while fostering community pride.
