FORT TOTTEN, NY – Senator John Liu today concluded his 2025 Holiday Toy Drive with thousands of toy donations for children in the community, including families of soldiers at the 99th Readiness Division in Fort Totten, Queens. Toy donations were collected throughout the month of December at the office of Senator John Liu in Bayside and Champions Martial Arts schools.

State Senator John Liu stated, “When you’re a kid, there’s nothing like a new toy during the holidays, and when you’re an adult, there’s nothing better than seeing our kids smile. Even though some of our military families here in Queens may be deployed away from home and far from their loved ones this holiday season, we’re here to let their families know that their service is appreciated, and they are not forgotten. These donations are a small way for our community to say thank you for their service and to bring some extra joy during the holidays.”

Michael Ro, CEO of Champions Martial Arts, stated, “Champions Martial Arts is proud to support our troops with this holiday toy drive and give back to families in our community. Teaching discipline, respect, and service is an essential part of both martial arts and the military, and this effort reflects those values. Thank you to all the families across all our locations who helped make it possible to bring some holiday joy to military families here in Queens.”

Major Nicky Lea, HHC Commander for the 151st Theater Information Operations Group, stated, “We are grateful for the continued support of our local community for recognizing U.S. Army families during the holiday season. Our soldiers remain committed to the mission year-round, and knowing their families are supported at home strengthens morale and reinforces the connection between the Army and the American people.”

Toys were collected at Senator John Liu’s community office and at Champions Martial Arts locations throughout Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island, including Flushing, Bayside, Kew Gardens, Little Neck, College Point, Forest Hills, Astoria, Long Island City, Maspeth, Ozone Park, East Meadow, Huntington, Woodbury, Franklin Square, and Wantagh. Donations will benefit children throughout the community, including hundreds of military families stationed out of the 99th Readiness Division at Fort Totten in Bayside, many of whom have loved ones deployed during the holidays.
