Senator Lea Webb Announces $200,000 in State Funding for Broome-Tioga BOCES

(Binghamton, NY) – Today, Senator Lea Webb (SD-52) announced that she has secured $200,000 in state funding for Broome-Tioga BOCES in Binghamton. The funding was awarded through the New York Senate’s Community Resiliency, Economic Sustainability, and Technology Program (CREST) and will aid in security cameras and installation of the devices.
Broome-Tioga BOCES is a vital educational institution that serves 15 component school districts across Broome and Tioga counties. As part of New York State’s network of Boards of Cooperative Educational Services, it provides shared educational programs and services that help schools operate more efficiently and effectively. Broome-Tioga BOCES offers a wide range of opportunities for students and adults alike, including career and technical education, special education, workforce development, and adult continuing education programs. With initiatives like its state-of-the-art trades complex and partnerships that strengthen local workforce pipelines, Broome-Tioga BOCES plays a key role in preparing students for success in college, careers, and community life while supporting the overall growth and vitality of the Southern Tier region.
