Moore Family Farm Empire Award

(Lansing, NY) - Senator Lea Webb presented Moore Family Farms with the New York State Senate Empire Award, recognizing over five decades of family-driven agriculture, entrepreneurship, and community service in the Southern Tier. Empire Awards are given to businesses that demonstrate excellence, leadership, and a lasting positive impact on their communities.

Founded in 1971 by Richard and Kay Moore, the farm began as a small Christmas tree business and has grown into a multi-generational agricultural destination under the leadership of Jason and Carrie Moore. What started as a few acres of evergreens has expanded into a 50-acre operation featuring choose-and-cut trees, a fall pumpkin stand, a five-acre corn maze, and a wide range of family-friendly attractions that draw visitors from across the region.

“We are deeply honored to receive the Empire Award from Senator Webb. Moore Family Farm has been a true labor of love built on family, community, and the joy of creating memories together. It’s incredibly rewarding to see families—often multiple generations—come out to enjoy the fresh air, laughter, and wide-open spaces.” Said Carrie Moore, Owner of Moore Family Farms. “This recognition is a reflection of years of hard work, dedication, and the continued support of our community. Watching friends & families return each year to make new memories reminds us why we do what we do.”

“Moore Family Farms represents the very best of our region’s agricultural and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Senator Lea Webb. “For more than fifty years, this family has cultivated not only trees and crops, but connection, tradition, and community. Their hard work and commitment remind us how deeply small family farms are woven into the fabric of rural life in New York.”

The farm continues to serve as a gathering place for families to enjoy outdoor activities while learning about sustainable farming and local agriculture. Through its growth, Moore Family Farms has remained grounded in its values, quality, stewardship, and community connection.
