Touro Law Center held its 2025 “With Liberty & Justice for All” celebration on Thursday, April 24 at the Garden City Hotel, and the verdict is in: New York State Sen. Monica R. Martinez was named this year’s Elected Official of the Year.
“At a time when our justice system is facing unprecedented challenges to its integrity, I am honored to be recognized as a champion for its defense,” said Sen. Martinez. “Democracy cannot exist in the absence of justice, and Touro Law Center helps uphold that principle by instilling the values of fairness and equity in the future legal leaders it is preparing. I am grateful to Touro, and to all of the honorees, for their continued leadership in protecting these cherished beliefs and upholding equal justice for all.”
The “With Liberty & Justice for All” celebration is Touro Law Center’s signature annual event, raising funds for student scholarships and honoring leaders whose work reflects the values of justice, service and community. Along with Sen. Martinez, this year’s honorees included Guercio & Guercio LLP, Law Firm of the Year; Cherice P. Vanderhall Wilson, Esq., recipient of the Paul S. Miller Award; Gateway Investments LLC, Corporation of the Year; Neil Fang, Esq., recipient of the Dean’s Medal; and The Honorable Mark D. Cohen, recipient of the Builders Award.
