Sen. Martinez and Assemblymember O’Pharrow invite the community to a night of candy, costumes, and chills

New York State Sen. Monica R. Martinez and Assemblymember Kwani B. O’Pharrow are summoning young ghosts, ghouls, and goblins for an evening of Halloween fun during the annual Trunk or Treat celebration on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, at Geiger Park in Deer Park from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

This free event offers a safe space for kids to enjoy candy, prizes, music, and much more. Families can look forward to a Best Trunk and Costume Contest, music, treats, and plenty of wicked surprises throughout the night. Young trick-or-treaters are encouraged to wear their costumes, though they’re welcome to come as their spooky selves.  The festival also supports an allergy-friendly environment, making it an inclusive experience for all.

“Our trick-or-treaters seem to brew up the most creative costumes,” said Sen. Martinez.  “It’s always great to see all of the witches and wizards, superheroes and spirits who appear for this special night.  With so many unearthly creatures in one place, I suspect the real magic will be in trying to keep the candy from completely vanishing.”
