Senator Helming addresses seniors at Mendon Community Center

Senator Pam Helming recently met with members of the Honeoye Falls-Mendon Senior Citizens Club, including local retirees and veterans, to discuss some of the most pressing issues facing New Yorkers today: affordability, rising healthcare costs, and the overall cost of living.

During the meeting, Senator Helming emphasized her ongoing commitment to ensuring New York remains a place where families can thrive for generations to come.

Senator Helming said, “I want my grandchildren—and yours—to be able to live here, raise their families here, and enjoy a strong, middle-class life. But that means we must get serious about the challenges that are driving people away: the soaring cost of prescription drugs, the lack of affordable housing, gaps in community-based services and long-term care. These are not partisan issues—they’re quality of life issues, and we must work together to address them.”

Senator Helming’s visit underscores her focus on listening to constituents and advocating for practical, local solutions to improve life for seniors, veterans, and working families across the region.
