Senator Helming Honors Veterans at Wreaths Across America Ceremony in Canandaigua

Senator Helming

Senator Helming joined community members, veterans, and volunteers at Academy Cemetery in Canandaigua on December 13 to participate in the annual Wreaths Across America remembrance ceremony, part of a nationwide effort held each year to remember the fallen, honor those who serve and have served, and teach the next generation the importance and cost of freedom.

Senator Helming said, “National Wreaths Across America Day is a powerful reminder that remembrance is something we choose to do. Each wreath laid represents a life of service, a family’s sacrifice, and a legacy of freedom. It was especially meaningful to stand alongside World War II Veteran Gene Gerard and his great-granddaughters. It is an unforgettable reminder that the stories of our veterans live on through generations. Because of the dedication of our volunteers and community, these heroes are never forgotten.”
