Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C, Elma) says two veterans’ organizations in the Town of Eden have been awarded grants to support improvements to facilities that serve veterans, service members and their families. The grants are among sixteen projects across New York funded through the latest round of the state’s Veterans’ Nonprofit Capital Program.
“These important grants will help ensure our veterans and military families have access to safe, updated facilities to meet and receive vital services,” Senator Gallivan said. “The funding is also an investment in the greater Eden community, which benefits greatly from these organizations and their facilities.”
Under the program, Newell-Faulkner American Legion Post 880 will receive $75,000 for roof replacement, driveway improvements, new drainage, and a generator.
VFW Eden Memorial Post 8265 will also receive $75,000 for HVAC upgrades and a generator.
The grants, ranging from $25,000 to $75,000, are administered by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York in partnership with the Department of Veterans’ Services.
