ALBANY, 5/13/25 - Today, in a ceremony at the New York State Capitol, Senator Peter Oberacker honored Pamela Kenyon of Worcester, New York as the 2025 New York State Woman of Distinction from the 51st Senate District.
“Pam represents the very best of our community, our county and in our State,” said Senator Oberacker. “She is a tireless advocate for her neighbors and a shining example of what it means to turn challenge into triumph. Her story isn’t just inspiring–it’s the embodiment of the values that make our communities so strong.”
Pam’s journey began in 1986 as a secretary at Kenyon Insurance, a business local to Worcester in Otsego County. A young mother of three, she worked days while attending night classes to earn her brokerage license. Through hard work and perseverance, she rose through the ranks and became the proud owner of the business in 2015. Under her leadership, Kenyon Insurance has expanded into a cornerstone business in the region.
Pam’s commitment to her community stretches well-beyond business. She has been a steadfast supporter of local organizations, always quick to lend a helping hand or make a difference behind the scenes. As The Worcester Baseball Organization summarized it, “Pam Kenyon’s unmatched commitment shines through… Her generosity and community spirit are truly inspiring.”
Pam’s courage also stood out during her battle with breast cancer. Despite the physical and emotional toll, she never wavered in her responsibilities to her family, her business, or her community. Today, she champions awareness and actively supports The Breast Cancer Foundation, giving strength to others on similar journeys.
“Pam never looks for the spotlight,” said Senator Oberacker. “But her influence speaks volumes. She’s a role model, a survivor, and a true leader—her legacy will continue to inspire others for generations.”
