Senator Rolison Voices Support for Child Care for Police Officers Act, led by Senator Gillibrand

In support of bipartisan legislation co-led by U.S. Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Thom Tillis, the Child Care for Police Officers Act, which would establish a pilot program to provide childcare services for police officers to accommodate their work hours and enhance officer recruitment and retention, New York State Senator Rob Rolison issued the following statement: 

“As a retired police officer and the father of an officer raising a young family, so many law enforcement families and I know firsthand how challenging it can be to balance the demands of the job with the needs at home and navigate unpredictable schedules without adequate childcare options. Senators Gillibrand and Tillis’ bipartisan act is a smart, compassionate step forward, one that will help departments recruit and retain good officers while giving families the support they deserve. I strongly urge the United States Senate to pass this legislation and make this commonsense solution a reality.”
