Community Comes Together for SD-19 Easter Egg Hunt at Canarsie Park
April 27, 2025

Brooklyn, NY – On Sunday, April 27, 2025, after two weather-related delays, the spirit of Easter finally arrived at Canarsie Park as families and children gathered for the SD-19 Easter Egg Hunt. The event, originally postponed due to rain, was a joyful celebration of community, springtime, and fun.
Despite the wait, the turnout proved to be worth it. Families enjoyed a range of pre-hunt activities, including face painting and arts and crafts, which brought smiles and laughter to kids of all ages. Once the Easter Egg Hunt began, the park was alive with excitement and festive cheer.
“We were thrilled to finally bring this event to life after the delays,” said Senator Roxanne J. Persaud. “It may have taken a little extra time, but it was Easter as long as we say it is—and the smiles on the children's faces were worth it!”
