Senator Roxanne J. Persaud and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Host “Talk Saves Lives” Suicide Prevention Webinar
Brooklyn, NY — On Thursday, May 1, 2025, New York State Senator Roxanne J. Persaud partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to host “Talk Saves Lives”, a free, community-focused webinar on suicide prevention.
Held from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM, the virtual event offered participants a comprehensive introduction to suicide prevention, including the latest research, proven strategies to reduce risk, and practical tools individuals can use to help save lives. The webinar was streamed live via Zoom and Facebook Live, making it accessible to community members across Senator Persaud’s district and beyond.
“Talk Saves Lives” highlighted the power of education and open conversation in preventing suicide, and underscored the importance of community-based efforts in supporting mental health and well-being.
Participants joined the event through the ZOOM platform or by tuning in on Facebook at Facebook.com/Sd19SenatorPersaud.
Senator Persaud continues to champion initiatives that address mental health awareness and support, especially during May, which is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month.
