Senator Roxanne J. Persaud Marks 10 Years of Service with Community Cultural Celebration
BROOKLYN, NY – On Sunday, September 28, 2025, Senator Roxanne J. Persaud commemorated her 10th year in the New York State Senate with a vibrant cultural celebration that showcased the rich diversity of Senate District 19. The event took place in the auditorium of the South Shore High School Campus in Canarsie, Brooklyn.
More than 400 community members, elected officials, and local stakeholders gathered to honor Senator Persaud’s decade of service and enjoy an afternoon filled with music, dance, and unity.
The program began with the uplifting sounds of steel pan music welcoming guests as they arrived. A dynamic lineup of performances followed, including stilt walkers, praise dancers, step routines, traditional drum performances, folk songs, and powerful solo vocal performances—each reflecting the multicultural fabric of the district.
The celebration also featured raffle prizes and light refreshments for attendees, adding to the festive and inclusive atmosphere of the event. Community members of all ages had the opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate a decade of dedicated leadership and public service.
Senator Persaud expressed deep gratitude for the continued support of her constituents, saying, “This district is home to a beautiful mix of cultures and communities. I am honored to serve and celebrate alongside all of you.”
The event was a testament to the Senator's commitment to fostering unity, cultural appreciation, and public engagement in Senate District 19.
