Senator Ryan Awards $150,000 to East Syracuse-Minoa Central School District

State Senator Christopher J. Ryan (SD-50) today awarded $150,000 to the East Syracuse-Minoa Central School District (ESM). This funding will be used to support the purchasing and installation of new inclusive outdoor learning equipment at Fremont Elementary School and new storage for hands-on learning supplies at Woodland Elementary School.

The new outdoor equipment at Fremont Elementary School will consist of accessible play structures, sensory equipment, and seating to accommodate the needs of an increasingly diverse student body.

“Every student deserves the opportunity to learn, play, and grow in an environment where they feel included and supported,” said Senator Ryan. “This funding will give students at Fremont Elementary access to outdoor spaces designed to meet a wide range of needs, while also helping Woodland Elementary better organize the hands-on materials that make learning engaging. I’m proud to invest in our schools and support the students, teachers, and families who make up such an important part of our community.”

“ESM is deeply grateful to Senator Ryan for his generous support and commitment to our students,” said ESM Superintendent Dr. Donna DeSiato. “This investment will directly enhance our ability to create safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments where every student, regardless of their needs, can thrive, learn, and grow together.”
