State Senator Christopher J. Ryan (SD-50) today awarded $85,000 in state funding to the Village of Fayetteville. The funding will be used to replace the roof of the Village’s Fire Department, located at 425 E. Genesee St.
“Our local Fire and EMS Departments work tirelessly to serve their communities and keep residents safe,” said Senator Ryan. “Ensuring that their facilities and equipment are properly maintained is pertinent for the safety of first responders and the people that they serve. I’m very proud to deliver this funding to the Village of Fayetteville.”
This $85,000 in state funding covers part of the roof reconstruction project, which will cost a total of $218,000.
“Thank you to the Senator for his support, getting the funds for this project was absolutely a necessity for our organization,” said Fayetteville Fire and EMS Chief Paul Hildreth. “In these crazy times it seems that all of our funds go to ensure we have proper staffing to handle our ever growing call volume.”
“I want to thank the Senator for helping our Village fund this project, “said Fayetteville Mayor Michael Small. “This project is very important to our residents and the funding delivered by Senator Ryan helps offset the cost to our taxpayers. I and the Village are very grateful for this grant.”
