FULTON, N.Y. – State Senator Christopher J. Ryan (NY-50) yesterday honored Universal Metal Works of Fulton with an Empire Award as a part of National Small Business Week. Empire Awards are given to businesses in a senator’s district that have achieved a high level of excellence and have contributed to the growth, prosperity and betterment of the community.
“For decades, Universal Metal Works has built a reputation for precision, innovation, and a highly skilled workforce that continues to drive their success,” said Senator Ryan. “Their investment in Fulton and commitment to excellence have created meaningful opportunities in the community and strengthened our regional economy. Recognizing them during National Small Business Week is a testament to the important role they play in Central New York’s growth.”
Universal Metal Works expanded to Fulton in 1992 and is a leading metal fabricator, specializing in design, engineering, and assembly. The company has a highly trained staff with over 300 years of combined fabrication experience.
Members of Senator Ryan’s staff presented the award to Universal Metal Works on Wednesday during a ceremony with the New York Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Onondaga Community College, during which the SBDC named Universal Metal Works Oswego County Small Business of the Year.
