(Mastic Beach, NY) – On Saturday, May 2, 2026, NYS Senator Dean Murray proudly recognized the finalists of his high school photo contest, ‘Liberty Through The Lens’, at the William Floyd Estate. This contest invited students to capture what freedom means to them in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The contest showcased the creativity, talent, and thoughtful perspectives of young people across the 3rd Senate District, highlighting the many ways liberty is experienced and expressed in everyday life. Senator Murray commended the finalists for their inspiring work and for helping to commemorate this historic milestone through the art of storytelling.
