On July 8, 2026, Senator Lea Webb hosted a virtual webinar for the community on the impacts of H.R. 1. Throughout the webinar, Senator Webb shared explanations of the incoming changes, resources available in New York State for those in need of assistance, and how New York is working to mitigate the impacts of this federal policy. 

Said Senator Lea Webb, “The incoming policy changes from the federal government due to HR 1 are creating more disparities in essential programs such as Medicaid that support our most vulnerable community members. Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers have no healthcare and are left with no other affordable options. It’s important to raise awareness about the healthcare changes due to H.R.1, and to provide support to our community members who are being impacted by this policy.”
