POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (August 4, 2026) – Senator Rob Rolison has sent a follow-up letter to New York State Attorney General Letitia James requesting an update on the ongoing litigation involving the partially collapsed stone wall and closed sidewalk along West Main Street (Route 9D) in the Village of Wappingers Falls.

The letter follows a recent phone conversation between Senator Rolison and Attorney General James regarding the matter, as well as previous correspondence sent by the Senator on April 30 requesting a status update.

In the letter, Senator Rolison requests information on the current status of the litigation, any significant developments since their conversation, and the anticipated next steps. He also asks for details regarding any planned or ongoing engineering, design, repair, or construction work associated with the project, along with a projected timeline for restoring the wall and reopening the sidewalk to the public.

The letter reads, "As you know, this matter has remained unresolved for nearly six years. The continued closure of the sidewalk presents an ongoing public safety concern and remains a source of frustration for those who live, work, and travel through the Village of Wappingers Falls. Given the sustained public interest in this matter, any update you can provide would be greatly appreciated."
