Video Recap: Virtual Town Hall on New York's Homeowner Assistance Fund

_______________

On Thursday, January 6, 2022, State Senator Liz Krueger and I hosted a Virtual Town Hall to discuss the New York State Homeowner Assistance Fund.

The Homeowner Assistance Fund is a relief program funded by the federal government and administered by New York State Homes and Community Renewal. The program is intended to assist homeowners, including condo owners and coop shareholders, who are at risk of default, foreclosure, or displacement. During the event, we shared important information about how this program may be able to assist New Yorkers. You can watch our video or visit the HCR website to learn more.

We encourage any homeowner who is struggling with mortgage payments, property taxes, or maintenance fees as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic to apply to the program in order to receive support. My office is available to provide assistance and to answer any questions regarding this program. We are also here to provide information and support about any other housing concern you may have. Please feel free to contact us at 212-298-5565 or kavanagh@nysenate.gov.
