Senator Helming on her bill to improve screening and treatment for children's mental health

Pamela Helming

Senator Helming votes in favor of legislation to better support students with dyslexia and urges the Senate to pass her bill, S.4463, to expand the available mental health workforce and improve access to screening and treatment. Her bill would grant diagnosing privileges to licensed mental health counselors, family therapists, and psychoanalysts, giving families greater access to much needed services and ensuring that conditions are diagnosed, and treatment begins, as soon as possible.
